PET scan is positive -4x3x4 cm mass in arm.( about 9 inches from where the primary was located)  MRI also indicates an 8mm soft tissue nodule in the left suboccipital lobe.  No communication from the dr except to email an appointment with the surgeon.  Wondering, based on your experiences,  what is next besides surgery. By the way- found out about the test results on the patient portal.

Sorry to hear the news! :-/

Where are you being seen? Pretty poor approach to have you receive this information via a website. I would question the doctor or hospital system that's treating you, and certainly seek out other resources should you continue to see a pattern forming here.

In terms of options, have you done immunotherapy yet?

Completed four doses of yervoy, but stopped due to recurrent uveitis.

If this bumps you into the 3C category, then you have 2 options: surgery, which will remove the melanoma and leave you NED again, which leaves not much in the way of treatment options since you already did adjuvant Ipi. Or you could decide not to do surgery and be considered "unresectable 3C" which would then open up ALL treatment options. This is something to discuss with your onc and think about.

The mass is getting larger and causing pain down the underside of the fore arm towards the wrist, leaving it is not really an option. Dominant arm. Thanks, though.
