          Hey-

I'm currently on Avistan (bevi-somethinga-mib or muab)- which is a inhibitor,  but i'm doing it with carboplatin and Taxol-  not TMZ.     Hope it will keep my lung tumors in check for a while until "something better?????" comes along!

Side effects have been mild and almost non-existent.  Hope all goes well with you.

          Take Care ALL-

          Grady.

Avistan = bevacizumab = VEGF inhibitor = E7080    ……all the same or similar, i think.  They should be forced to use Latin!

I am at MDAnderson Hou. TX. I have almost did 2 cycles of trial and it caused my gallbladder to enlarge with infection. I am good now that I am off.  I go to Dr. tomorrow and the plan is to go back on trial at a lower dose. This is a phase I trial so there is little to know about it. I have a 50% reduction in tumors in upper leg and slight growth in lower leg.

I hope the treatment you are on going helps you….g

Thanks-  I think  " ginakay" is on a trial of sorts.  I'm doing my avistan/carboplatin/taxol cocktail at my local small-town oncologist, 'cause all the drugs are "legal" and i wanted something done ASAP without red-tape.  What i am doing, however, is based on a trial- phase II I think- that Mayo Clinic in Rochestor, NY is doing.  My other oncologist, from Mayo Clinic in JAX, FL. also recommended this combo (no conflict of interest there –HA..Ha…ha), but my local guys came up with same thing independently so i went with it.

Good Luck, and P.S.-  Cancer is stressful on the entire family….like any disease or problems.
