      Between stage 3a 3b and 3c

Do  they all get treatment with picc line?  Or is stage 3a only being watch every 3 months for 3 years?

Anoymous – you need to be more specific in your question.  The treatment options for 3a, b, c are very different.  There are actually many new options for the 3b and 3c crowd that have become available during the past couple of years (with many new trials going on).

I have been a 3A for almost a year and took the Interferon route.  I did NOT do the PICC line.

BTW…I had my first annual brain MRI yesterday and got good news last night….so there is hope.

Intron is approved drug for stage 3, but old and not said to increase survival plus very toxic.  there are trials with new drugs, the PD1 and Braf drugs or watch and wait.  I chose to watch and wait.

Been told that they don't do treatment for stage 3a. For stage 3b and 3c they do 30 days of interfeon and then shots.

My advice is to get to a Melanoma Specialist as they know the latest and you don't have to get  a PICC line if you veins are good.  Or if you are doing a lot of treatments, tests and whatever you can also get a Port.
