That's what it says on the timeline. 4 days form the TIL and 2 days into chemo.
The biggest problem to date has been pain control. The mel is causing a lot of pain on my right side making getting up and down, well, painful. During day one I was getting chemo at the clinic, then after a very long day going to the hotel to crash. But I could only have oral pain meds at night, and there was some throwing up, so I was a bit of a mess the next morning.
Anyway the next day they were unable to keep the nausea under control so they sent me to the UW Hopsital full time. After 5 more days of chemo I go to the ICU here for the TIL.
They say the first two days of cyclophosphamide are worst the the next five days fo fludarabine. My first dose of the fludarabine is in 90 mins.
However I am still cracking jokes and some of the nurses even laugh.

Hi Paul- UGH…sorry to hear about the pain and nausea……BUT as everyone here has said, you sure do have one helluva good attitude. I think I could take a lesson or two.
Keep those nurses laughing….
Hoping you feel better soon, and the treatment is doing what it needs to do!!!!!

Thanks Jenny,
For me the attitude means it's something this stupid disease has been unable to take away. It already takes so much. I'll be damned if I let it takeaway the joy of existing. #*&@ you cancer! (You don't know how much restraint it took not to drop the f-bomb.)

Good to hear that you've managed to maintain your sense of humor through this ordeal. Have you received your Relief Band yet?
Praying for you.

Nearly there, Paul. Those T-cells are itching to get in there and fight!! I found some good "light-hearted" Ninja T-cell images on internet, nurse photocopied lots and I stuck them up all round the room for T-cell Day!! Lots of luck and the angles will be taking care of you this week!

Not sure what we will try next. Having MRI's and CT-scans on Jan 5th and 6th, then see Drs on 9th for results and next steps. If we are making progress then may stay on Keytruda but think he'll need radiation again for the rib/spine but we shall see.
hope all goes well and Merry Christmas best you can.

Paul
May the bile NOT rise to meet you
May the T cells always have your back
May your Mel friends shine warm upon your face
And forever may the Lord hold you in the palm of his hand.
