    and I'm happy about it.

Ok all joking aside.  My first T-VEC (weakened herpes ++) injection was yesterday.  Yes it hurt!  Wow!  It didn't hurt for long but WOW that sucker hurt.  As de from that the sfx have been headache, achy, that dreaded flu like symptom, and stomach cramps.  Overall not too bad.

I stayed home form work today – just because I don't know what will happen, but I probably could have gone to work, but hey! There should be some perks with cancer ๐Ÿ˜‰

Now I'm just waiting for it to melt these little suckers!  Oh yea!  My family and I are feeling good about this treatment– that it will be the end of Mel!.  I would like that.

Just wanted to pop in and let everyone know how it went.  And of course to joke around.  Gotta get back to work,

    Shalom,

    Julie

        Hey Paul,

I'm always glad to provide a laugh.  Especially for this group.

As I understand it, the protocol is and injection week 1, 3, 6, 8.10,12… or until you don't have a tumor to inject.  My tumor is  pretty small, so I'm doubting I'll have very many past week 6 or 8.

Thanks for your good wishes, and for my new war chant: "MELT SUCKERS MELT!!"

        Shalom,

        Julie

You had me at herpes Julie!  Totally reeled me in ๐Ÿ™‚  Can't wait for the melting to begin, and don't worry about missing work, you deserve it!  I actually took the day off after my husband's surgery, HE WENT TO WORK!  I took a mental health day that day ๐Ÿ™‚

Melt suckers melt! I like it. Must admit I: also thought of the Wicked Witch of the West: I'm meeeellllltttingggg! (Alternate chant). I'm having my first injection tomorrow. I expect it to hurt and have asked for a calming pharmaceutical. Wimpitude is one of my great talents.

        Hi Julie,

I have a question about your BRAF status, are you positive and good luck with the T VEC.

        Hi Manfred,

Yes, I"m BRAF+ but I have a very, very low tumor burden. Because the BRAF drugs don't tend to be long term answers, I don't want to use Braf drugs yet.  I'll save those for a time when I have more tumors, or when they get out of control.

        Make sense?
