Dear Brian, dear all,
I am extremely saddened to have to inform you that Chris lost his battle against melanoma on Wednesday, September 17th, two days after our daughter's second birthday, a month and a half before his 36th birthday. Thank you for your concern, Brian – what a coincidence that you wrote this post on the day he died…
His condition worsened quickly after his second ipi infusion, and although his melanoma specialist then started the procedures to try to get him on anti pd1, the tumor load was just too high, it was too late. Chris put up such a fight, and kept hoping, as we all did. He was so determined to live and enjoy life. His faith helped him a lot, and i like to think he is now at peace at God's side. He was such a loving husband and father.
I wish to thank all of you in chris'name – I cannot tell you how much strength, hope and support you brought him, both of us in fact. He so admired the spirit of the people posting on this forum, as i did too. It meant a lot to him to have this place where he could communicate with people going through the exact same thing as he was, and where he felt truely understood. You were all such an inspiration to him! Keep up the fight, keep up the hope!
I wish you all the best from the bottom of my heart. My prayers and thoughts continue to be with all of you and your relatives.

Hi Susannah. I'm so so sorry for your loss. I read several of your husband's posts and I agree with Mat, he had a positive and scientific approach which I greatly respected. I can't imagine, as my husband has this dreaded disease and we have a young child as well. Many hugs.

Susannah,
I'm so sorry for your loss. Everytime I hear of one of our fellow warriors losing their battle it always hits me hard but this one particularly hurts. I could tell from Chris' post that he was a remarkable person. I'm so happy to hear that his faith served him well to the end and I have no doubt he is in a better place now. Know that you and your precious daughter will be in my prayers.

Susannah,
You and your family are in my prayers, so sorry to hear this news. I've been in this fight for four years, but only been on the forum here for a few months, and had the opportunity to share discussion threads with Chris. He was educated about what he was fighting and took the time to share his experience here and on the MIF forum with others while hopefully learning some new things, too, along the way. He will be missed here, but I'm sure so much more by your family.
Best wishes for your family, Joe

Susannah thank you so much for sharing with us at this difficult time. This forum has become a big part of my life over the past few months. The forum is filled with great advice and interesting people. I have always enjoyed what Chris wrote and shared here.I wondered why Chris picked T-cell as his forum name the first time I read one of his post. My thoughts are with you and your family Susannah.
