I never thought this would happen. What has gone wrong? How could this guy turn a country so proud? It's over. Carter would be better…

LV, glewis is a self described "T-partying *physchodelic* Republican"…doesn't that just say it all? So, really, you were speaking for yourself…he just thought he HEARD you speaking for him 🙂
A "wise, true elitist holier-than-thou Messiah complexed person" ? How DO you know this glewis character? Pffft…he's a little wordy, why not just call you a snarky bitch and get it over with? I hate the idea someone might be honing in on niche— if someone's going to go on and on, all drugged up with horrible spelling— I'd rather it be me!

If anyone should be hearing things as a result of psychedelia, it should be me! (I don't believe his 'psychodelic' claim, though. Most of the acid-heads I knew turned out to be quite nice.)
But no, I've not made his acquaintance, and now he'll be so disgusted at my politics (Liberal! Pinko!) I probably never will. Another one scratched off the list for cause. I'll just be another snarky bitch to rail at. I can live with that.

…..ummm, i may be butting in, but here in rural South Gawga in the late 70's, 'shrums were free for the picking! , Fernindina Beach was one of the big ummm "import" places for the quality weed, and my backyard of Okeefenokee Swamp was a "drop zone" also. Not that i ever really knew of any such silliness- rural legends I'm quite sure.

HOW can you follow the darn replies? I sure wish they could fix it to auto copy the "reply to" name, at the very least…once replies move on down you just can't tell. I'm tempted to get a ruler to follow the line…and even that's impossible sometimes!
Hate it.

Ahhhhh, you're a smart one, DON. Oh….. and I really get worked up with all this slam talk of " communism ". For heaven's sake, it's SOCIALISM that's cool. All the really neat places have it and it works out swell. It's also what "GOD" would want for his kids [ I really think that angle might work! ]

ROXANNE, your idea sounds well and good, but the god of compassion is so out of favor these days. The stony god of retribution and damnation, the god of fear, is all the rage.
Of course, the idea that God wants anything implies less than perfection, but that's a topic for another day.

LAURA… Finally! Someone who understand how personally invested I am in the some of the outrageous statements I post here! Hoped the 3 *reallys* would turn the tide. You would be shocked to know there are some here who've said that TinaR doesn't take this board seriously and only exists to take joy in fluffing the crowd. I'm really really all about believing God concerns herself with American politics. Really.
psssst….. that socialism thing? i'm all over that part of the idea!

I have been trying to follow your politics but it has gotten way way over my head. Only thing I know is a new gov for California (did Arnold not run? or was it his time to go elsewhere? I cannot see Sarah Palin becoming your president . Sorry I am soooo not following things.
ah well. Back to what I am doing which is trying to sort through a myriad of papers and old stuff to toss after reading everything… hate this job. (rather be a pack rat) but I cannot tolerate living in a pack rat nest either, so what to do?

Oh, don't worry about it, Bonnie. It's really not all that much of an upset or that awful. What happened usually happens in mid term elections …nothing unusual. It's time for those Republicans to shine with their amazing plans "to do everything exactly the same as before"– while doing something different by putting America back to work, cut entitlement programs- the same programs that benefit oldster Republicans…oh, wait. Never mind.
It will be ok…Sarah isn't going to be president, and while the rich might get to keep shoving their tax savings money into offshore bank accounts,Gulf Streams, yachts, couture and attractive hookers–the world isn't going to come to an end over this little election. It could be worse………………………………………… Did you hear about 2012? Not the current election talk… but the upcoming END OF THE WORLD? People THINK it's all about the Mayan Calendar… I'm worried it's a Republican president…either way sucks 😉

Bonnie.. don't listen to Tina/Rox—-she's once again sugar-coating or simply in denial about this election:
"Oh, don't worry about it, Bonnie. It's really not all that much of an upset or that awful. What happened usually happens in mid term elections …nothing unusual."
So My Dear Bonnie, I'll tell you the truth!! DT and I know you CAN handle the truth! =)
This was an historical election! This was the largest upset in the House since 1948! I know Knute's turning cartwheels right about now in Heaven, especially since that bit, er.. Nancy Pelosi is gone as Speaker of 'da House!! *smile*
*Hugz* ~L~
ps.. I ain't much a political person, so I won't be arguing with anyone here.

BONNIE, I don't have to sugar-coat or deny the outcome of the election as I take comfort from what actually happened. Despite what we see here by BG and similar commenters- this outcome wasn't about turning against the Liberal agenda or taking back the country from that "bit…er Nancy P" and that " where's the birth certificate Kenyan!". [Of course, I refer to him with reverence as" the President"] The election was about the economy and the worry it hasn't recovered enough. Only 9% this year !!…which is more than her party produced in 8 years and the prior 2 of congressional majority. Her winners and incumbents contend they will deal with their residual devastation in the same manner and with the same policies that created the mess. Perfect, it couldn't' get any better for Democrats…..and they've added the Teabagger movement!
After the nation coming around in 2008 I have more faith in the intelligence of 'rational' Americans …the ones who are not prompted to jump and down in heaven or this hell on earth about Nancy and the Kenyan "getting theirs". I read [ somewhere ] this vote amounts to the American people throwing the Republicans keys to the car and saying…let's see YOU drive us out of this mess. I have no worry that Republicans can or will do anything that will be vote worthy come 2012. AND I'll be very happy for BG if the Republicans run her personal fav – TV pundit Arkansas Huckaabee and the Tina Fey Doppelganger . This vote was a test drive and Republicans are America's crash dummies. The more wacky they get, the more I relaxed I am. They're bat-shit crazy and it's a beautiful thing for America.

I hope you're right, TinaR. I fear that the number of "rational" Americans is diminishing by the day. It doesn't seem to matter that there is NO substance in most of what the Republicans have to say, but they are gosh-darn great at coming up with snappy soundbites that seem to convince over half the population that they speak the truth.
I look at the governor we just re-elected in Arizona and shudder. I think I need to just stop following politics for a while – it's bad for my blood pressure and my soul.
