Dave started radiation on 8/9 due to the size of the tumors in his chest. He will do 10 days of it prior to IL-2 on 8/29. Has anybody had radiation to this area, and if so, what were your side effects? So far he has said it's a "piece of cake". Other than being a little tired and not much of an appetite, he feels good. I'm just wondering what to watch for.
Thanks!

My father had 3 doses of very high dose radiation for a lung cancer tumor. This replaced the typical 30 days of radiation because it it done in real time compensating for lung movement. Anyway, he was in his 80s and just suffered fatigue, and some burn areas on his back which were helped by applying Aquaphor. No other side effects for him.
Best wishes,
Janner

Maria,
The standard effects of radiation, which I experienced myself are fatigue and sunburns;as mentioned by Janner Aquaphor is the best ointment to alleviate sunburned spots.I also suffered a bad diahrea/ I have pre-existing Irritable Bowel Syndrom condition/ due to the radiation location-pelvic area-which I think will not apply in your case and which in mine was controlled by Immodium.
I was advised to baby myself and so I did-I did have nap here and there whenever I felt like any time of the day and almost no strenuous physical activity/any kind of stress-and I would advise you and your husband to do the same.
Best regards,
Teodora
