Hi! I just found this mole on my left leg, I was startled to see black dots in the mole itself and scheduled a meeting with a dermatologist, but sadly it's gonna be at least 3 weeks til I see him. I am so worried about what this might be. I just want to get some feedback on what to expect and what you might think this is. Thank you.

Don't worry until it is time to worry. You are lucky to be seen that quickly. Hopefully just a plain 'ole mole, at worst somewhat dysplastic. You are vigilant, just make sure they do a scoop or other biopsy if can versus a shave.
Let us know how it goes.

Hi – it's natural to worry, but there's no point researching something you probably don't even have. Melanoma cannot be diagnosed by the naked eye – it can be suspected, but only ever proven by biopsy. So no-one here or anywhere else can provide any realistic info on this mole except a pathologist who is looking at a biopsy under a microscope. Even then it can be hard to diagnose. As my dr is often telling me – innocent looking things can be mel, and scary looking thngs can be innocent. Don't worry yourself about melanoma until you have a diagnosis of melanoma – and this might never happen. You're doing the right thing getting it checked out – that's all you can do right now. Stars.

I found some scary looking moles on my husbands back. Going this week to the dermatologist. They had a cancellation and could get us in. I am terrified. Really scared. But I love stars post. Shouldn't worry about something that might not be. Easier said then done. Good luck to you!
