A. GW's Presidency lasted only 8 years-it happened in the first year of his presidency.
B. Now Obama has been in office for 2.
Your warped mind seems to think that all of this happened 11years ago?
9/11/2001-5/1/2011 is less than 10 years.
Sorry, I just thought you might a little help with the math-genius. Now go get your mop and finish cleaning up Burger King. Let the mop dry when your done, don't just leave it there all soaky and gross. Rinse it and then dry it. Then punch out, go home and throw your greasey shirt in the wash.

Yea, the weapons of mass destruction must have done a number on my brain, too. Oh, wait, never mind, I'm just tired. Three jobs will do that to you. Just think, if GWB hadn't destroyed our economy I'd be able to make ends meet with one job, but I do get all the free Whoppers I can eat. Amazing perks for part-time work. How "uniquely American", right? Thanks for the contribution of your cracker-jack calculations, way to focus on the most relevant issues of the evening!

Hmmm, a bit OCD today, John? You should be basking in the warm glow of another evil-dooer burinng in Christian hell!!! Maybe it meant 9 years Osama has been on the run…will be 10 years September 2011. Who cares, though, at the very least our dead have finally been avenged. Doesn't bring them back and that is still so painful. I know it's not all over… I'm just satisfied that the person responsible has paid for his crime 🙂

Yes, a truly crazed, hateful man is dead. We are arguably safer.
But dancing in the streets about it makes us no better than those who danced when the twin towers fell.
I feel lucky to be American (most of the time), but proud? I didn't do anything but be lucky enough to be born here. That's kind of like being proud of being tall, or blonde; an accident of birth, not an acheivement.
But BG, I'm calling you out on your little 'raghead' rant. That's the kind of thinking that insures that there will always be wars aplenty.

I don't think OBL was hateful and crazed, I think he was evil incarnate. EVIL he was. Now where's that #2 guy–the doc?
I don't understand how you can compare us dancing in the streets to THEM dancing in the streets when the towers fell. They killed 3,000 innocents on our own soil, with OUR planes and OUR training, under the leadership of OBL. I don't live in NYC and didn't know a soul who was killed or injured that day, but I cried like a baby thinking of all those who lost their lives, and the parents, husbands, wives, children, sisters, brothers and friends that were affected that day. And for what reason? None…other than an EVIL man who hates us because we're American infidels. (LOL–remember on the Dark Side when I wrote Imbeciles instead of Infidels?? hahah!!) When we danced in the streets, it's because that EVIL MAN was captured and killed! I compare it to V-J day, and the famous picture of the sailor kissing a nurse in Times Square when WWII was over. We have REASON to celebrate—-our military, CIA, Obama, whoever…. snuffed out the life of an EVIL MAN and sent him straight to hell. What reason did THEY have?? The thrill of killing 3000 innocents? C'mon—no comparison!! (I know, I know—this is where you say…."But GWB caused MORE deaths than that afterwards.") Yeah.. thousands and thousands and thousands of lives have been lost BECAUSE of the attacks on 9-11-01. People say Sadam wasn't involved—maybe, maybe not, but he, too, was an EVIL MAN. Hell, he killed his own family if they looked at him wrong. GWB didn't do it for "shits and giggles" like THEY did; he declared war on terrorism, and followed up on it! I STILL believe there WERE weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. My analogy, like I've said all along, is it's like the police telling a drug dealer…."Hey, next week, we're going to come bust you for all the drugs in your house." We (the U.S.A.) gave them TIME to move the WMD's out of the country! My opinion only, but I have a right ot my opinion! =)
Yes, I am PROUD to be an American. Yes, I was lucky enough to be born here, but I could've moved to and become a citizen of another country, right? I am lucky AND proud to be here!! I'm lucky because my ancestors moved here. I'm proud for our liberty and freedom, thanks to our military men and women defending those liberties and freedoms! I sometimes embarrass my family, because when I'm in public and I see someone in uniform, I go over and THANK THEM. It's just something I feel I need/have to do. They put their lives on the line every single day (WILLINGLY now, instead of drafted!). You and I have the right to disagree… isn't that wonderful??? =)
Ah… raghead. I was tired and in pain and couldn't think of another word that rhymed! LOL! It's a lot better than some OTHER words I've heard him called! Guess I should have said "that turban-wearing mofo". Would that have been more "PC"? Name-calling is STILL name-calling, isn't it? My bad. =)

What matters, IMO, (most humble) is that UBL is gone.
I understand that the name of a courier was obtained at GITMO about 4 years ago (sure they asked real nice) and that the CIA has been watching, listening and following ever since. UBL was hidin,g basically, in plain sight.
Terrorism isn't eliminated by any stretch of the imagination, but we are at least somewhat safer this morning. In my black heart, I had wished that someday UBL would be captured and made suffer for his actions. But that was my evil side; this is better. He is just gone.
k.
I pray for peace, really I do but there is an old south.ern defense…"he needed killin'."

I was listening to a radio show out of L.A. and usually up here, the one I hear is from the night before, but our affiliate, put the radio host on Live. Cannot recal what time it was. (wee small hours for me) My mother actually stayed up for her news (closed captioned) and knew of it prob way before I did.
I was almost chortling when I heard. It woke me up, which caused me to freak out about the CPAP thingy on my face, and thus I was woken up and stayed and listened.
I wish that terrorism would simply simply just vanish. But I am glad OBL is gone. I am glad that they know 99.99% sure that it was he. I pray that no one will 'step in and take his place'
This has been a horrid decade for the world.

The invasion of Iraq (especially the occupation) was Georgie's fuck up and had no actual connection to Bin Laden. Think revenge and big oil.
Georgie also hesitated to use US troops in Tora Bora where Bin Laden was holled up in the caves. Instead they used local Afgan forces who gave Bin Laden and his supporters food and water and waved goodbye as they escaped to Pakistan. Remember, Bin Laden had supported the Afgans against Russia and was very popular with all Afgans except The Northern Alliance who fought against the Taliban.
Finally Bush drew down US forces in Afganistan and sent them to Iraq, especially thr Special Forces who had been imbeded with the local anti Taliband forces and were our most effect troops on the ground.
So cheers to Obama for having the balls to use US Military force within Pakistani territory. Had it failed (think Carter and Iran) it would have been a major scandal the Repubs would have pounced on. As it is, he now goes down as the guy who got the job done!!! And he didn't have to stage a photo op landing on a carrier to pump himself up. Obama is a thoughtful low key leader that some mistake as weakness or indecisveness. But compare that to the brash "from my gut" ill prepared decision making by Bushwacker Jr. 🙂

For Bill…Your post popped up in my e-mail and had to come visit a fellow Obama supporter . I am so thankful we have a quiet, thoughtful leader .You don't need theatrics when you are actually working on the problem – big difference in leadership 🙂 Obama seems to be a patient man no matter who is on his case–not jumping the gun, manufacturing and proclaiming victory. Heard yesterday was the anniversary of Bush's "Mission Accomplished". Funny. As for getting a code name 4 years ago… for almost ten years we've had the actual names of lots of people -including Osama—-it only helps if you REALLY do something about it.
For LV… I agree, you can't celebrate death. I would have preferred capture- but thrilled he is out of the picture. Oy to the horrible bigotry and ignorance – it's also the reason people like Bush, Santorum Palin and Bachmann are embraced and why we have to take the long road to address every situation. Tedious.

Amen sistah! Bush's arrogant posturing and shoot from the hip decision making cost the Repubs the presidency. I admire and respect Obama's presidential leadership style. Doesn't it just rankle so many southern red necks to see a black man with such class and ability lead this country.

The man's been busy. Here's a quick compilation of his accomplishments. From other sites ( forgive the mistakes- bleary eyed)
WHAT OBAMA HAS DONE IN TWO YEARSIt's amazing that he has accomplished as much in mid-point of his administration. Losing a 60 vote majority in the Senate and STILL PASSED major legislation. What Obama has managed to achieve has not been seen in this country since FDR and the NEW DEAL and on a smaller level LBJ after President Kennedy was assassinated. The past two years have been historic. The last time any president did this much in office, booze was illegal. Meanwhile, in less than 2 years, Obama has done what most had said was politically impossible and absolutely essential for us to maintain a competitive economy in the future (Universal health care), tackled highly challenging and comprehensive economic reforms (Financial industry reform), and stabilized a very troubling economy. Oh,and then there's OSAMA BIN LADEN. After all of these achievements, it will be interesting to see what else Obama can get done over the next few years of his first term. Even if he did not achieve anymore legislative accomplishments during the remainder of his tenure, Obama will have had one of the most productive terms of any president in the history of our country.Obama Has Accomplished 85% of First Term Agenda in 2 Years after finding the nation on it's knees economically when he took office.JOBS:Twelve straight months of private sector job creation resulting in more than one million new jobs over the last year. Race to the Top prompted 48 states to adopt common standards for K-12. Some notable changes prompted by the program include Illinois lifting a cap on the number of charter schools it allows, Massachusetts making it easier for students in low-performing schools to switch to charters, and West Virginia proposing a merit pay system that includes student achievement in its compensation calculations.
Student loan reform (He overhauled the student loan system in which banks were being subsidized to give loans that were guaranteed by the government anyway, a license to print money. doctors find diseases before they are too advanced – avoiding larger medical expenses down the road and requires the largest and richest American companies to provides insurance for all their employees. It attempts to lower health care costs by requiring all Americans to have medical insurance and pay their fair share so the system is more efficient – similar to how all Americans need to have car insurance – while providing tax credits to help the poor and small businesses afford this coverage. It increases competition by creating marketplace exchanges to make it easier for small businesses and those without insurance to shop and compare plans. It funds co-ops who can offer competitive insurance plans and provide further competition for insurance companies. It allows insurance companies to offer plans across state borders further increasing the supply of competitive plans. It provides funding, infrastructure, and support to automate, digitize, and unify the country’s outdated medical information system reducing system-wide costs, improving care, and increasing productivity. Perhaps most importantly, it sets up an independent commission of doctors and medical experts to identify and root out medical system waste, fraud, and abuse and includes many pieces of reform that will reduce the most wasteful medical system practices.WALL STREET REFORM:Financial industry reform: The most sweeping financial industry reform legislation since the Great Depression, this legislation tries to correct those industry issues that helped create the current recession we are still digging outselves out of. It provides a system to allow the government to break apart large financial institutions that threaten the economy, creates a council of federal regulators to coordinate the detection of risks to the financial system, subjects a wider range of financial companies to government oversight, creates a Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection to help protect citizens from unscrupulous practices, and reins in banks’ ability to trade in risky financial instruments such as credit derivatives.Fraud Enforcement and Recovery Act which gives the federal government more tools to investigate and prosecute fraud, from lending to the financial system, and creates a bipartisan Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission to investigate the financial practices that brought us to this point:

Obama has worked with Bernanke and the Fed, put a team of some of the best economic minds around him, helped save America’s 3 major car manufacturers from going out of business, passed the largest economic Stimulus Bill in the nation’s history, and executed other legislative changes to keep liquidity flowing in our economy, save jobs that would have otherwise been lost, and fund areas of our economy that are strategic and important for our long term economic competitiveness including health care, education, green energy, science, and infrastructure. The critics will say that the economy today is still sputtering, holds some risk of sliding back in to a recession, and that a real recovery will take many years. These are all true statements and Obama has not moved us from a possible Depression to a fast growing economy – but this is a completely unrealistic, almost childish, expectation given the severity of the financial crisis, our current debt, and other economic realities that we have to deal with. Could he have done more or done it differently? Certainly. I would have loved to see Obama do more, faster to invest in small businesses, help them get loans, and help them become more competitive with the large corporations that increasingly dominate our economy. But today we are not in a horrible depression and things are stable and this alone is a tremendous accomplishment"Visited more countries and met with more world leaders than any president in his first six months in office- not vacations…engaging with other countries FOR progress. http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/2 009/nov/19/chain-email/cha in-e-mail-claims-obama-has -visited-more-countri Earned an unprecedented success rate of 96.7% on winning congressional votes on issues where he took a position. http://parenting.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/03/11/obamas -council-on-women-and-girl s Appointing two Supreme Court Justices: When people consider their presidential voting decision, most don’t consider that amongst the most important and enduring presidential responsibilities is the president’s ability to appoint supreme court justices. This is arguably a president’s biggest opportunity to influence his country,He has added two Democrats, replacing two moderate Democrats in the process. If a Republican has won the presidency instead, we would now be looking at an unbalanced Supreme Court with six conservatives and only three liberal judges – a balance that would have been in place for many many decades. In the appointment process, Obama also introduced needed diversity to the bench with two more women on the court, bringing the count to a record three women sitting, while also introducing the nation’s first Hispanic to the Supreme Court with his choice of Sotomayor.Repairing Our Image Abroad: After 8 years of damage to our country’s image, Obama has helped repair badly damaged relationships with foreign powers across the world from Russia to Europe and reached out to the Arab world. This is necessary and critical in order for the most influential countries to work together to fight challenges such as Global Warming and Nuclear expansion. It also helps to fight terrorist recruiting by helping change America’s negative image. It is increasingly important for the US to engage with other countries as fast-growing nations like Brazil, China, and India join the traditional powerhouses and as America adjusts to a world with more diverse and influential players in the political equation. That wasn't a very nice comment. You are usually a fair, thoughtful, intelligent man. The post mentions it was created from many sources. The first sentence. I don't think this was meant for you anyway. Probably for those who don't see the progress and continually ask what our president has done for them lately. The people who can't be bothered looking for the real information, but would rather enjoy the complaints made by their party leadership and remain convinced the president has been idle.
I bet he did change his underwear(not that it has anything to do with his work ethic or his commitment to our country).

The critics will say that the economy today is still sputtering, holds some risk of sliding back in to a recession, and that a real recovery will take many years. These are all true statements and Obama has not moved us from a possible Depression to a fast growing economy – but this is a completely unrealistic, almost childish, expectation given the severity of the financial crisis, our current debt, and other economic realities that we have to deal with. First, I agree with the decision to "surgically assassinate" Bin Laden.
However, I can't celebrate. If we do we become like them, hatred builds and festers. It had to be done because it would be impossible to put the bastard on trial someplace without major terrorist actions.
If you believe we as a society are safer than you are naive. What we did is just make some 10 year old in a mid east country start hating the west even more and someday he will probably amass the same assets and do something equally unspeakable.. Also Bin Laden did not act alone, there will always be someone following in his footsteps.
We are now prisoners of our own "Security" system all because of religious and cultural hatred. "When will we ever learn" it's been going on since history has been recorded.
Secondly, I am not a liberal, or a pacifist, I've served my country and wanted to do so again in 2001. Too old!
God Bless America. No, God Bless the World and all it's people.
