Started a new clinical trial yesterday…13 hours at the clinic. Back again today for EKG and blood draw. Same schedule in two weeks. Its been a fun and interesting 7 days… eye exam, heart exam and CT in a two day period. Trial drug is in pill form, taken weekly,  and is an ERK inhibitor. Immunotherapy drugs didn't work for me…so onto a new strategy. I'll keep you posted on results.

Hope it goes great for you, Nick, after they’re done doing all that they do to you pre-trial. Post updates when you have a chance.

Hi Nick, I thought you might find this article interesting!!! I hope the trial runs smoothly!!! Ed http://cancerdiscovery.aacrjournals.org/content/8/2/184

Thanks Ed. It was explained to me, in layman terms, that it is made to "inhibit" the growth of more cancers cells…to break the circuit. It was also pointed out that cancer cells will eventually find a different path and start reproducing again.

I realize you have not yet started the pills, but have the docs said when results tend to be seen? Wishing you the best of luck!

Thanks. It was mentioned that results could be seen in as little as two weeks. I have visible mets, so I will be able to watch for changes myself. My first treatment was this past Thursday and a scan is scheduled in 28 days.

My mets are visible/palpable too and it's all I can do to not check them every 20 seconds. My therapist suggested identifying one time per day only and, if possible, then stretching the time between checks to make changes more easily detected. Wishing you the best results.
