My UCSF Onc just provided the following link to a trial they have going. I am not familiar with this at all. I'm waiting for an Anti-PD1 trial they say is going to start in November and he suggests doing this one in the meantime.
Any help would be appreciated.

The drug is GSK 2126458 and it is a dual PI3Kinase and MTOR inhibitor given by mouth. 1 pill a day on 28 day cycle.
Thanks!
Robert

Robert,
I would be a little scared to do "first-time-in-human" dose escalation study of P3K112826
but that is just me.
I noticed at UCSF there is a GSK braf/mek combo trial, what about that. These two drugs have proven effective. Howeve, no data on results as yet.
Just a thought.
Good Luck & keep us posted.

Bob, If it was me, I would try the P13K and The MTOR combo.
It is blocking the VEGF pathway whick may cut off the vascular pathway for the tumors blocking them from growing.
Best regards,
Jimmy B

Jerry , thanks for the link to the article, it is very informative. So much is changing daily that I sometimes feel like members of this forum are more up to date than a lot of the Oncs we see. I'm glad that UCSF is only a couple of hours away and have a few Melanoma specialists. I meet with them on Oct 5th to determine my next moves. Thank you again. Robert

Robert, I started out emailing posted items from the MPIP to my Oncologists. They are very knowledge men, but from the time they spend with their patients, I figured that even a Melanoma specialist could not keep up with all the happenings (no way a general Oncologist can even think of following all of everything for all cancers.). I have actually received thank you's from my Oncs for sending them items! They often even forward what I send them to other members of the University staff! There are so many of us looking at things. No one person can review every thing. (I do try to keep from overloading them with all that we come up with.)
