Wow!!! If Earl slides right up the coast a very large percentage of the nations population coud be heavily effected. A cat 3 or 4 centered right along the coast would cause huge problems for a lot of big cities including DC. And the tail og the dog (coastal Maine) could be wagged pretty hard.

Our boat is coming out of the water tomorrow morning. We'll leave it in the marina parking lot until this thing resolves itself. Some of our boat neighbors wait until the last minute and then ride out the storm in a sheltered cove. Naragansett Bay in Rhode Island. Hope it stays offshor but I have a funny feeling about Earl.
At the hardware stores today generators were front and center and bottled water was flying off the shelves.
