My Oncologist informed me that he is moving on in June so I need to find me a new doctor. Does anyone know of a good Melanoma specialist in the SE WI area? I found a couple doctors through a search, but unfortunately my insurance does not cover them. My current oncologist is in Madison, but their billing department has been a nightmare. I would really like to find a good doctor within the Aurora system. I haven't had any issues via insurance with them.  I don't think my insurance will cover any doctors out of state.

Thank you for any help you guys can give.

Hello Miaka! In SE WI I have been under the care of Dr. Amy Harker-Murray at Froedert & Medical College. I am extremely pleased with the treatment I have received. I switched to Froedert when I went to stage 4 about 18 mos. ago. They have an entire skin cancer department at their facility.  However they are not Aurora.

Thanks Dave! I will look into her, but I think the last time I looked into Froedert it wasn’t covered which sucks because I hear it is a really great facility. Right now I am looking at Dr. Pant out of St. Lukes as it looks like he specializes in melanoma.

If you're willing to travel to the Chicago area, there are a number of good docs down here. Jon Richards is in the near north suburbs and focuses exclusively on Melanoma. Jason Lukes is at The University of Chicago. He treats me. Hyde Park is on the near south side. There's a guy new to Northwestern that's supposed to be really strong…Jeffrey Sosman. He did some interesting work at Vanderbilt. Northwestern is in Evanston which is near north side as well.

              Good luck. Keep fighting.

Unfortunately we are quite limited in WI when it comes to reputable melanoma specialists. I see Dr. Albertini and am currently receiving Imlygic injections from Dr. Neuman at UW Health. If forced to I am lucky that I can also go to Froedtert. I am unaware of any melanoma speciallsts within the Aurora Health Care system. Good luck!
