      Hi

Does anyone have any experience of using clinicaltrials.gov. I want to get on a clinical trial and wonder if there is someone i should contact?

ClinicalTrials.gov gives you the info – you get to do the legwork.  Call the "contact person" at the location you desire.  They can tell you if they are still recruiting and if you might be eligible.  There are also a clinical trial finder linked to on this site:  http://www.emergingmed.com/networks/MRF/.  You might also have your oncologist help you get into a trial if you are eligible.

There was a recent thread on this forum that was talking about various places to get information about clinical trials. A link to the Emerging Med site that Janner refered to is mentioned there, too– it is available from the Melanoma International Foundation web site. You can read the whole thread at:  http://www.melanoma.org/find-support/patient-community/mpip-melanoma-patients-information-page/new-clinical-trial-finder

If you look at the top of the screen and go to the "Understand Melanoma" item, the link for the Clinical Trial finder is under that heading.  Also some other good links.

                                  Hi,

It is also possible to find clinical trials by going directly to a melanoma center's website.  I am currently in a PD-1 trial at Moffitt.  My wife, bless her soul, went directly to:

                                  http://moffitt.org/research–clinical-trials

. . . I assume you could try the websites of the other big centers and look for trials.

                                  Good luck.
