Wondering if anyone is in the trial GM-CSF / Yervoy ?? My dad was givin this as an option or to use the regulated dose of Yervoy… Wondering how the side effects are… Or just anyone with the Yervoy side effects would be helpful.. We are so undecided … Dad feels good now and is active doing many things at the age of 80 and he does not want to give in….. And I am in total agreeance with him. I just dont want to see him sick and I dont know if that triple the dose of the trial would be to much… Any suggestions from ppl that have been on either ?

Hi
I have just finished my treatment on Yervoy,(ipilimumab)
Infusion over 90 mins,every 3 weeks for 4 sessions
I sailed through it
But unfortunately ended up having chronic diarrhea, had to go into hospital since twice
since for rehydration and a course of steroids
I am still on steroids , reducing slowly
Have been told this is the biggest problem
But we are not all the same, hope this helps

Thanks for the info, I am hoping dad can get by without the steriods… Did they use Prednisone ?? That drug made his kidney function drop way way down… And what dose of the Yervoy did you take ?

Yes on prednisolone
Had to go onto steroids because of the diarrhea
My bowel became very inflamed
Can't help you on dose of Yervoy.I just don't know
Perhaps I should be asking more questions
But over the last months I have tolerated it very well
All my kidney and blood counts have been normal
I would love to know when the bowel will get back to normal but that could take some time yet.
My next scan will be end of August
That ,I hope will let me know if it's been all with while
But positive thinking, and good look! X
