Pleased to hear a plan may be coming together – I hate the limbo, but when I have a plan I feel I can cope and keep going. Hoping this comes together for you and the results are quick and permanent

        Hi Mike,

Have been following your troubles, but not posting. Did they explain why they ruled out surgery?
I know it is tough but your tumour burden does not seem so high (and they seem small too), although it just keeps going on (sadly). So I am glad you seem to now have a plan plus also will be able to see Dr. Hamid in case there are other options.

Good luck and glad you are seeing all these docs and especially Hamid
        best wishes Mark

Hi Markdc, the only “reason” to as why my team stopped everything is its quote ” Useless”. New tumors shouldnt be constantly coming back after surgerys and, so far, 3 different immunal drugs have failed. Can i ask, and dont laugh, iv heard many many times the term Tumor Burden, what is that exactly? Haha, i know what each word means, my tumors have been very much “burdens” these past 2 years since its migrated from my usual area, the Left Leg to now my torso, lungs, intestine, stomach and butt muscle…..
Were gunna kill this all off once and for all with an impatient power plan, (most likely Proleukin stuff) at Kaiser Riverside under the care of Dr Jang unless my consult with Hamid pans out a better plan, plus hes alot closer, to do a inpatient treatment, my emotional head strength would be stronger knowing im closer to my family for easy visiting, Riverside is far…..

Hey Mike, I’ve been reading your stuff too, but didn’t really know what to say because my melanoma has also been returning even through the drugs. I’m not a expert but I always thought tumor burden was a fancy way of saying how much melanoma is there in your body? If it’s less, then the drugs to treat it will work better.

Have they discussed the TIL therapy since they dropped surgery? I went down to MD Anderson because I’d read about TIL and figured it was my best next step and the doctor I saw there recommend it as well, so I’m waiting now to see if they were able to make it work for me. I mention it because you were talking about it earlier and it takes several weeks/months to complete so if you want to try it, I’d ask now if I were you. Good luck man!
