      Hi there –

My vote would be John Hopkins in Baltimore, MD, one of the top melanoma centers in the US which has recently been awarded an infusion of funding specifically for immunotherapy research. Learn more here:

MD Anderson would be a good choice too. The top melanoma hospitals I'm aware of in the U.S. are MD Anderson (Texas), John Hopkins (Maryland), Sloan (New York), Dana Farber (Boston), and Smilow/Yale (Connecticut). I suggested John Hopkins because of the new Immunotherpay Institute that has been slated for development there, but you'll find top melanoma specialists at MD Anderson as well.

Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia specializes in ocular melanoma, and Dr Takami Sato is well-known for his work in the area.  It is one of the only hospitals to specialize in treating metastatic ocular melanoma.  Most other hospitals, even those that are centers of excellence in melanoma, will treat OM no differently than regular melanoma.  I would recommend at least researching and calling them.

MD Anderson is a great hospital and it treats lots of melanoma.  But the previous poster has a point.  Any hospital you go to is going to see LOTS more skin/cutaneous melanoma than ocular melanoma.  No hospital has higher survival rates than other hospitals, but you should really focus on finding ones who have ocular melanoma specialists.  Ocular melanoma has different responses to drugs than cutaneous melanoma.  The other thing you could possibly research is where clinical trials regarding ocular melanoma are taking place.  http://www.clinicaltrials.gov.  I'm not suggesting you try to participate in a clinical trial, but ones specific to ocular melanoma are most likely going to be offered at institutions who treat more OM and have specialists who are more focused on OM.

There is an ocular melanoma bulletin board on this site: http://https://www.melanoma.org/find-support/patient-community/cure-om-forum.  Those are the folks you should be asking because they are dealing with the same disease.

Germany also tends to be quite progressive and is much closer than the USA – you might want to look at see what options exist there.  Also Australia has the highest cutaneous melanoma rates in the world so might be another place to check as well.
