Being BRAF positive doesn't make your melanoma better or worse. BRAF positive vs non are about 50/50 in melanoma patients. Being BRAF positive does make targeted therapy with a BRAF/MEK inhibitor combo a viable option. There are many of those meds these days. Here is a post I put together years ago but does explain: http://chaoticallypreciselifeloveandmelanoma.blogspot.com/2014/02/braf-inhibitors-for-melanoma-dabrafenib.html
This primer about melanoma care generally may also be helpful: http://chaoticallypreciselifeloveandmelanoma.blogspot.com/2017/08/melanoma-intel-primer-for-current.html
I hope this helps and I wish you my best. Celeste
