Diagnosed 1B (.44mm focally ulcerated) 5/1/2018.  Full excision 5/15..following up with derm and oncologist every 3 months (onc cks lymph nodes in left leg via ultra sound due to ulceration posing higher risk)

Fast foward …no more mel to date (knock on wood) ..however, I have had 2 more dysplastic nevus pop up and need complete removal. (this will be #'s 5 and 6 for dysplastic nevus).  My point is..they are new.  I am 47.  Dysplastic hangs in the middle of benign and melanoma, so its a little unnerving to be finding NEW things pop up at my age.

Anyone else struggle with newly appearing dysplastic nevus and if so, at what point did you ask if you are a candidate for dysplastic nevus syndrome?  Not that it really matters…treatment and monitoring will not change with or without the title "syndrome".

      Thanks for the input.
