      Hello,
I rarely check in on this forum anymore, but every once in a while I check in to try to spread some hope.
My story, in brief: diagnosed stage 2 on rim of ear in 2003. Metastasis to mediastinum in 2007 with a tumor that couldn’t be removed surgically because it was attached to the pulmonary artery. I did 11 months of the chemo pill, Temodar. Many, many scares later, I’m , somehow, still here.
Currently, I have a small ” enhancing lesion” in the dural membrane of my lumbar spine that is thought to be benign, as it hasn’t grown in 2 years… so, unlikely to be melanoma related.
Recently, an increase in a rare type of migraine led to a brain MRI which came back normal.
Feeling grateful, humbled. Also, great compassion for those who are newly diagnosed or going through possible recurrence scanxiety. The psychological toll is difficult to explain to others who can’t relate. You are all my heroes.
