Hi,
I am a newbie and need your help. I just turned Stage 4 and my doctor is recommending GSK Braf/MEK combo trial. I have have subq on leg, chest and mets on both lungs.
I sincerely would appreciate any feedback / experience with the BRAF & Mek combination drug.
I am very interested in knowing in the following:
1. how long it took to see tumor shrinkage ?
2. how long has the combo drugs been working OR Stopped working?
3. anyone get rid of ALL there tumors with this combo drug and remained NED??

I've been on a GSK BRAF/MEK trial (BRF113220) since May. I take 300mg of the BRAF and 2 mg of the MEK daily. Other than some fevers/chills experienced at week 4-5, I have only mild side effects, mostly fatigue.
Going into the trial, I had bone mets, sub q's, and a possible lung met. Sub q's went away within 4 weeks, and the lung lesion was not visible in the 8-week scan. My last scans (16-week) showed bone mets all unchanged or slightly smaller (it's hard to tell if they are still active or not – a PET scan might show if they are still viable, but PET scanning is not part of the trial protocol).
So I'm very happy with results so far.
Best wishes,
Harry
