Attempting to see final shuttle launch in July from Titusville. Anyone know the area or have experienced a launch from Titusville? Have heard that the new bridge that opened earlier this year is a good place to sit, wait and watch. Are there bathroom facilities, food, etc anywhere around that area? Want to cross this bucket list item off my list!

I found this link…hope it helps. We have driven thru the area around Titusville…I don't think that there is a lot there but this link does say that it is the best place to view the launch.

I could see the smoke trail from our driveway when we lived in South Orlando…pretty amazing.
Hope you have a great time!
Take good care, k.

I'm so jealous.. I wanna see it, too!! (If it was happening just two weeks later, I'd get to see lift-off!!) A friend of mine went to see the one in March (Discovery STS 133 Launch) and said it was "awesome beyond words". He had tickets and security clearance to watch from the visitor complex. He said it was soooo LOUD!
Too bad barbie convention didn't plan better, and move it up a couple of weeks! *sigh*
Many many moons ago, I was on a church youth trip in FL, and we got to see one of the Apollo missions take off. (Remember those? When they came back and splashed in the water, then had people in wet suits get them out?) We've come a LONG way since then! But even then, it was loud and the starters, lift off and the trail were just amazing! Fortunately it was a perfect day, and we could see forever. I'm thinking we watched it from Titusville, but I could be wrong—it's was so long ago!
Anyhoo, whoever you are, I hope you get to go, have fun, and see history in the making! I'd LOVE to see pix afterwards.
