Hi all , hope all as well has can be. For those who had treatment on brain tumour’s.I had gamma knife in April 2016 for a tumour on brain. I have had scans since plus CT scans for body . I am on keydruda. 9 dose Monday. My scans are due but my consultant not scanning brain due to clear scans since treatment of gamma knife. So coming up to 2 years in April 2018. So those who have had brain tumours do you still get scans after 2 year clear or do you not. So happy head clear but bit nervouse not keeping a eye on still despite clear. Activity in chest nodes but have reduced on last CT scan from taking Keydruda.
    Thanks for support

I am still getting them every 3 months since Oct. 2013. Not sure if still being an active part of a clinical trial checkmate 067 makes a difference, but I was given an option maybe 6 months back about changing frequency, my choice to keep schedule of every 3 months. It has been kind of comforting knowing what is going on inside my body on a regular basis. Best wishes!!!Ed

My brain was always my biggest mess. Brain lesions cropped up regularly and my MRI's were every 3 weeks. Once the Keytruda started to clean things up (January 2015), we stretched brain MRI's to 6 weeks… then 8 weeks… then a "late bloomer" was found in Feb 2016. Gamma knife round 10. Scans remained at 8 weeks for another year. 2017 was a good year, and we eventually got to 10-11 weeks between scans. I'm due for a brain MRI Feb 1… my last one was in early November… only showing one bit of stable scar tissue (from the 39 total that have been zapped or removed), but nothing "new" since that Feb 2016 gamma blast. I would freak the hell out if we stopped scans. I just had a melabuddy crop up a new lesion in his brain, following 22 months OFF of successful Keytruda treatment. He started Keytruda in May 2014 and finished May 2016. I met him in the gamma unit… his first round… my third. That must've been late 2013 or very early 2014. His brain was lesion free from that time until two months ago, when this new tumor popped up. I'm not sure how often his brain scans were coming around… maybe every 4-6 months… but WHOA did that news catch me off guard! I could see docs moving scans to 6 months… maybe 8 months… then a year. But to cold turkey stop looking? Oooooooh man… I don't know about my comfort level with that.

THANKS! Your NED vibes must've worked!  🙂  Nothing new on the scan. Same old "boring" brain, with just one wee 2-3mm tid bit of presumably "dead meat" in the left occipital. WHEW! Another 3 month lease on life! BOOYAH!
