Ibuprofen while on Ipi

I started Ipi (10mg/kg) recently. My Oncologist said that my taking of Ibuprofen was fine (taking Ibuprofen to reduce swelling from surgery). However, when I was getting the Ipi infusion the Nurse in the oncology/chemo area said I should not take Ibuprofen while on Ipi.

i trust my oncologist and think the nurse was more referring to her primary job in chemo infusions rather than immunotherapy. But in either case I've stopped taking ibuprofen.

Do any of you take Ibuprofen while on Ipi?

  I take ibuprofen a lot, and did so during Ipi and was always ok with my oncologist.

  Many folks on immunotherapy, whether it is ipi or anti-PD1 or the combo – live on NSAID's like ibuprofen due to the arthralgias they develop. In fact, some data indicates that NSAID's improve the response immunotherapy provides…though other data is not so clear….   Bottom line….while taking NSAID's and immunotherapy may not help response…it certainly doesn't hurt. I wish you well. celeste

  I know a lot of chemo and immuno treatment patients get steroids, pain killers, etc., during therapies…should be OK.

  I ran fever for 6 weeks on ipi/nivo combo, my dr told me to take motrin. I took it every 2 hours to keep the fever away.
