Has anyone progressed from Stage lllC to Stage lV while taking Yervoy in the adjuvant setting?  I have taken three doses of Uervoy at 3mg/kg at this point.  Wondering if anyone has had a similar experience and what you did as your next step for treatment?  I've now received three different recommendations from three different Oncologists.  Thanks!  Christal

      Hi Christal,

Sorry to hear this.  There is no doubt many have progressed on ipi.  As with every treatment, not everyone is a responder.  The good news is more options are available if you are truly Stage IV.  Just checking to be sure.  You have been diagnosed (scanned) and new tumors have appeared?  A common problem with Yervoy is tumor inflammation which occurs first, so tumors may get bigger, before they get smaller.  Just want to make sure this is not what you are experiencing.  Only a true melanoma specialist will be aware of this phenomenon, so some patients do not get a chance to complete treatment when in-fact it was beginning to work.

Gary- Yes, I have had a PET/CT and new tumors have appeared.  All my previous scans after surgery showed nothing except for the post surgical inflammation at the original surgical site.  Thanks for your post!  Christal
