HI,
i did 11 months of interferon low dose injections and had extreme fatigue, requiring me to not work, sleep 15 hours a day and take Ritalin (yes prescribed by my oncologist). I had a reoccurence 11 months after I completed the 11 months. (I couldnt make it through the month of high dose.).
I did four doses of ipilimumab at 3mg/kg and have been NED ever since…two years four months. I had less fatigue, way less than with the interferon. I did have some days of extreme nausea and took two anti nausea drugs but it was a way better treatment in terms of side effects and success.
I'm off to work so dont have time to wrtie more. I am sure you will get more responses.

Hi,
I am 3 years 9 months NED after completing 4 infusions of yervoy. I had very few side effects, some fatigue and a slight rash. My melanoma spots on my leg, where my melanoma was located started flattening out and disappearing after the first couple of doses. I has some vitiligio after the first dose, a good sign. I was stage 3a. I am considered a complete responder. you can search previous posts of mine for more details. keep positive!!

Hi,
I had an isolated limb perfusion at Mass General in 2009. The doctor who performed the procedure (5 hours in OR), and four days in the hospital, said there is an 85% effectiveness rate. I however was in that 15% that experienced a recurrence about 11 months later. I then did yervoy in a clinical trial which I am still NED from. You can look at posts I've written here in the past about the ILP, through either my profile name here or key words in the search feature on MPIP.
Sorry about your mom having to deal with this, and you as her caregiver too.
