      This is the original poster.  Also wondering how likely a severely atypical mole would have turned into melanoma (assuming I did not remove everything including the roots).

      Hello everybody:

      Fortunately, the mole was not cancerous.  However, it was extemely atypical.  If I waited a couple years it could have become cancerous.  So I was lucky I got it off early.  I just had the roots taken out.  It should be fine now.

      OP here.  I forgot to add one question.  Will he take pictures of moles and do a thorough full-body check.  The issues I had with my derms were that they barely looked at my entire body.  It might because my race makes me low-risk and I am young.

      Also, how will I get an appointment with Dr. Peng?
