Bio

Was a computer programmer doing pretty good and almost never sick. On May 14 2013 woke up with a large bulge on my side. Had been feeling like I had the flu for a few weeks. Not really much pain but the memory of massive back pain Nov and Dec 2012 with decreasing pain to May. After ultrasound showing nothing a physical specialist on May 30 2013 said it was a separated right external oblique muscle. Started physical therapy to strengthen my abs/core area and pull that muscle in. June 11 2013 CT showed something with my spine so they had me quit physical therapy which was helping that muscle. Went from walking a slow mile ok on June 10 to wheelchair and hobbling around on June 15 for the MRI. June 21 2013 diagnosed with melanoma in T10 vertebrae and started radiation zaps. June 25 2013 PET scan showed several melanoma bone mets. Was up and around pretty good during radiation zaps and walk a pretty good mile still in February 2014. Aug 2013 PET showed increase in melanoma bone mets except the radiated area. Tried zelboraf which Oct 21 2013 PET showed increase in melanoma bone mets except the radiated area. Also learned I had shrunk over 1 inch in height. Just finished ipi on January 20 2014. Feb 3 2014 scan shows increase in all bones plus more bones plus formerly radiated t10 is now activate and aggressive. Feb 12 2014 mri sent me to emergency room for pain. Massive spinal cord compression. Surgeons finally decided it was inoperable. March 2014 stereostatic radiation to t10 seems to have kept be from being paralyzed for now. Doing tafinlar and mekinist. April 23 2014 scan shows everything has stayed the same or decreased except left scapula tumor increased a lot and spread to 2 lymph nodes on left collar. May 21 2014 started Merck’s PD1. Tumor in skull growing out and in pressing on brain. Sept 2014 radiated it and t12 and l2. Since fda approved pd1 getting it at home instead of mayo. Good thing cause radiation knocked me down a lot. Nov 4 scan shows some stuff mild growth in sme tumors. Very vague report. Doc wants me in a different trial. Walking going out so no trial. Dec 2014 radiated lower left leg and left hip ball and socket. Walking better but shoulder and collar growing like crazy. Choking a lot and issues swallowing. Jan Feb radiated left shoulder, collar neck. Also right upper femur and bottom 2 vertebrae. Pain from syatic nerve in left hip and leg eases but almost didn’t survive the radiation according to dad. April 2015 doing better but scan shows several things are growing some plus new tumor on kidney. Trying to get into good trial in Chicago or NIH. June 30 finally got ablation and cement done to t10. Doc said that tumor won’t paralyze me anymore. Very weak so gotta get strong again to get into a good trial. Sept went to mda but couldn’t get in trial. Oct 19 started keytruda plus abraxane.
