For those that are taking Zelboraf; I'm experiencing joint pain which seems to come and go (changes from left wrist/hand to right wrist/hand and left shoulder/right shoulder). I'm also getting a sore throat which also changes from left to right. Pain in my heels also but that was expected. I also run a low fever sometimes. I started 8 pills a day on the 14th of February but stopped on the 21st due to extreme side effects (face swelled and developed terrible rash). The doc reduced the dose and I started back on the 24th of February at 6 pills a day.

Have any of you experienced any of these side effects? Did you take any OTC's to help with it?

    Thanks,

Hi Kellie, I am not the patient but my father has been on this drug for 7 months and has had the same joint pain you are describing. He is also on the maximum dose of 8 pills a day. He also had a sore throat for awhile but that has subsided now. The only pain relief he has is neurophen. Unfortunately he is still having joint pain, hair loss and rash (not as severe as yours) but we are grateful this drug is working. Take care and hope your symptoms settle.

My husband has been on Zelboraf for 4 months. His side effects have been come and go joint pain, hair loss, fever (up to 103), chills, come and go rash, and now red eyes. He’s on a reduced dose (6 pills a day) and the side effects are much better. He’s doesn’t take any OTC meds…his liver levels seem to go up whenever he adds any other meds in. Check with your doctor before starting anything.

      Hi Kellie

Been on Zelboraf since November 2011.  My main side effect is fatigue.  I'm tired all the time – which is very unlike the old me.  Also – I've been having a fair number of headaches and a bit of numbness in my hands and feet.  Worst of all – the drug is not working for me.  I found out that my brain mets have returned and now I will need to try a new chemo drug.  Not trying to depress you – I've read that Zelboraf is having Amazing results in most patients.  Sending positive thoughts your way.
