    Hi all,

    Returned last (not this) past Saturday nite from second session of IL-2 at Yale.  It took about a week until I could function at all–it was correct that the second time is harder.

    I didn't have many side effects the first time, just itching and a little diarhhea.

    This time, the itch was there from day 1 (and hasn't stopped yet) the diahhrea accured much sooner.

    I experienced much more confusion.  No appetite whatsoever.  Bringing protein drinks was a great idea.

    And yet, Dr. Sznol said that very few peope finish all the bags.  Now he tells me–as if I had a choice!

    Today was the first day I drove and tomorrow I'm going to attempt work.  Normally I'd wait till next Monday, but I want to make sure I have time left for the rest of the year.

     

    I'm still using Aldera, and much of the area has scabbed over and fallen off.  Still pigment underneath–can't tell if they're flat or not.  Called Sznol's office; he said keep using it.

    So, scans again in 7 weeks, then decide if we do this again

      If this helps, I felt REAL good in the 3rd week after treatment each round.  Hang in there Karen!  Keep in mind side affects are cumulative with IL2 but overall tolerable.

      I was told the average # of bags taken per week is 7.  My Onc (Who haas worked with IL-2 since the 1980's) discussed whether or not to take each bag with me.  If the bloodwork, blood presssure  and urine output were not within proper limits he would not do them, otherwise he left it up to me whether or not I felt up to takiing each bag.

      Karen,

      When doiing HD IL-2, listen to your body. It will tell you when to stop the treatment/Bags.

      More doesn't mean better. You can over tax your immune system and cause major problems with autoimmuinity among other things.

      As for the Aldera, here are some of my Pics.

        Thanks, guys.  Jimmy, the only time the Aldera caused any reaction whatsover was once I started the IL-2.  I mean nothing!  As soon a I was on both, it all crusted over.  a lot of it has fallen off, leaving flat, pigmented skin.  Boy do I hope this works!
