The number of days that one works in a year is usually determined by the weekends and the public holidays. On average, there are 260 working days in a normal calendar year of 365 days, without taking into consideration the weekends (Saturday and Sunday). But after deducting the public holidays and paid leave, the real figure can be a bit less. Understanding work days in a year is useful in that it enables employees and employers to plan schedules, calculate salaries, and workloads better.
