That's a Roman numeral II (for "2", not "11"), which might help the explanation. It's the second long-term (10 year) clinical trial studying sentinel node biopsy and ultrasound monitoring vs. complete lymphadenectomy. It stands for "Multicenter Selective Lymphadenectomy Trial II", the trial information is here:

I think the study is only halfway done, but the early results are often discussed in the ongoing debate about the benefit of complete lymphadenectomy.
