    Hi,

I have a mole that I have been keeping an eye on for a while and I have a doctor's appointment booked in a couple of weeks time. However, can anyone shed some light on the image below? Thoughts on whether it's a melanoma or not? I am going crazy waiting and can't wait for the doctor's appointment !

Unfortunately, you cannot tell if a mole is melanoma by looking at it. It can't hurt to have a dermatologist take a look if you are worried. Anyone who tries to tell this is or is not melanoma just by looking at this picture is dangerously wrong. I wish you good luck!

      Mike,

Unfortunately you can't post pictures.  You can try to paste the picture as your profile picture and see if that works.

        Brian,

it is now my profile picture. I think it's just a bit of anxiety, after looking at it closely it doesn't seem bad at all. Your opinions ?

If you click on my username you can see the mole quite visibly.

I'm not the expert by any means but it looks OK to me.  Save that picture so you have something to compare it to later.  Keep an eye on it for change because that's one of the best indicators.

The derm at mayo told me-when in doubt cut it out. Get it biopsied-it can't hurt. It's probably nothing but the amount of time it took you to post this would be about the same amount of time to get it biopsied. I am no doctor-but I don't like the looks of it.
