Hi, so I am a caregiver for my father who has Stage 4 Melanoma with a BRAF_V600E mutation. He is currently taking Mektovi & Braftovi for treatment. My question… has anyone had any issues being on this type of medication, while having a home septic system? I have heard that oral chemo can kill the good bacteria in a septic tank and cause it to fail. But I am also told that these two medications are not technically chemotherapy, since it is a targeted treatment… just trying to prevent any future issues and would love any insight or information. TY!

Brandy, targeted therapy are not chemotherapy, so concerns for septic tank fail is not necessary. That being said if you are worried have it pumped out every two years vs every three years.
