My son had his primary mole removed from the scalp. He has a considerably big scar, therefore he leaves his hair long these days. The surgeon told him that hair transplant will not work because they went really deep to remove the mole and tissues.
Now, it is time for a hair trimming 🙂 and this question came up again. How to cover up that area of the scalp?. I think it is a sign of strength and resilience to explore ways to feel comfortable in your own body.
Does anyone have experience with this?
Happy Holidays!

Hi M,
I have had three sugeries on the top of my scalp, the most recent being a skin graft that is pretty big, about the same diameter as a coffe cup. I am older so probably not as concerned with my looks as I was when I was a young man, but I did wear a hat for several months. Part of that was waiting for the graft to heal but part of it was also not wanting people to see it.
Well finally (and with some urging from my wife) I got rid ot the hat. The crater is very, very shiny and I just don't care what it looks like any more. Plus I am easy to spot across a room!
