After feeling/finding an approximate 2 cm lump in my right breast on the 6h, I had my schedluded 6 month scan on Monday the 13th. The Medical Oncologist is meeting with my Oncological surgeon to schedule a biopsy.

Jerry,
If this is mel it will be your first "new" thing in quite a while. You body has been through quite a shock this year. Get it surgically removed ! Have you gotten back onto a regular schedule of Gleevic? This might be proof of why you need it for your insurance company!!
How was the rest of the scan?

Doc said the rest was stable. I haven't gotten the actual report yet. Radiology a running over an hour late Monday. Yes, I am getting the Gleevec regularly for a while for a monthly copay every two weeks! Expect to hear of a surgical appointment any day now.

You know Jerry, I was kind of wondering how you were getting Gleevec the whole time you were on the respirator. Kind of had me worried, at that time you obviously had bigger fish to fry. Praying that it is just a scar from your accident.

While I was on the respirator i also had a feediing tube in. Gleevecmcan be crushed and put in certain liquids if one cannot swallow it. The ICU delayed the start because they had never heard of Gleevec for Melanoma. My son bugged them repeatedly to call Dr Weiss in Va. They tried to tell my son that you couldn't get a dotor on the phone. When he bugged them enough and they gave the message as to why they were calliing, Dr Weiss immediately took the call. My son, the stubborn ParaMedic, doesn't back down easy. Dr Weiss also took every call my wife made back to him while I was out of it in Colorado.
I just found the chest tumor on June 6th. It was not tender until then and there was no scar tissue at taht location. I'. not convinced that it is melanoma, but still want it out to be sure.

Hey Jerry.
While in ICU, do you know how many Gleevec pills you missed?
Pulling for you that this is not melanoma.
The mangoes are my treat next visit to Florida as long as you stay off horses.

Missed somewhere around a week to ten days (at two 400 mg pills a day).. Would love to have copies of my medical records from Colorado, but they want money for them. Not sure when I will make it down agian. I will hold off the horses in Florida until I get the mangoes. Looks like I will "have" to go back to Colorado again this year. (They got rid of that horse!) Having another grandkid due there in Sept.
