Hi all ~ It's been a very long time since my last post….which is good, since I've been busy living life! Last night I found that one of my freckles has become raised, and itchy. Obviously, since I'm a stage 3 survivor and NED for almost 10 years I know that this is nothing to overlook. My question is this….should this be a recurrence what would a treatment plan look like since I've already had lymph node involvement 10 years ago?

You might be jumping the gun a lot…
If this is really a mole or something on your skin… and IF this were to be diagnosed melanoma, it's possible that this isn't a recurrence at all but a new primary. Is this near your original primary melanoma? Near your lymph node basin? Primaries are treated independently and what would happen depends on the depth of the lesion, etc. I think you need a biopsy before you even consider thinking this is a recurrence. Learn what you are dealing with because a new primary vs recurrence have two totally different treatment plans.

Thank you Janner! I am one to jump the gun, so I appreciate you talking me off my ledge. ๐
I'll keep you posted once I see my derm. It's nice to still see a familiar name on the board after all this time of not being on….you probably remember me….Darcy (Duke is my former husband)…I know he would visit this site often during my treatment 10 years ago.
I hope you're well!
