Just had several radical resecctions under my arm. Tumors had grown (1 fairly large) and were taken out.

Surgery was done on 1/30. How long does it take until I feel like me. Very tired and not up to par.

Also, RADIATION needed. What is that like. Any help on the side effects?? Any advice??

      thank you JML

It took me a few months to really feel like ME again!  I did go back to work a week after surgery which I believe was a

mistake as it slowed my recovery and caused a delay in the removal of my drains.  I believe it's important to do as

much "power sleeping" as possible so you can heal,  eat  lots  of protein including red meat (even if it's not part of

your normal diet), drink lots of water, and LISTEN TO YOUR BODY!

Depending how much you get…I had radiation for 2 weeks every day ( excluding weekend) to the middle of my chest by my heart. I didn't feel it it until the second week when I got a very sore throat and the melanoma swelled before it shrunk. They did hit part of my esophagus and that's what caused the sore throat. I had a soft ball size "sunburn" on my back…otherwise I was fine. I couldn't take hot showers for months on the area ( they said to avoid them).
