What does it mean when pathology says no evidence of dermal involvement on these stains?

It is my understanding that dermal would translate to dermis, the "second layer" of skin: epidermis then dermis is below it.  I would think that this would mean that the lesion didn't make it to or didn't involve the dermis which would be a good thing.  I'm not an expert but that is my take on it.
