When you google search the Dr.s name it comes up to Quack articles, this is never a good sign!!! When it is based in Mexico and has Quack links this sends up red flags to me. Nino, where is Mari being treated at present and who is her Oncologist? Second question is, did she not have a response with Pembro? Best wishes!!! Ed

Dear Ed, Thank you for your response,  Mari is being treated in Turkey, achebadim Clinic, she had already The fifth infusion of Keytruda and in 10th of june she has another Petscan.  Month ago, the result was, as doctor says, not bad. The biggest metastase in liver has grown twice (doctor thinks that it is a pseudo progression and side effect of Keytruda, no other new metastases are shown.  in 10th of june we will have a new result and Dr will decide what to do in The future. Problem is in  finances, as in Georgia the treatment is very very expensive, Thats why we are trying to find a trial and continue the treatment in this way…

What do you think about this Pseudo progression?

Thank you again for your response,

        Nino

      Nino,

Many world renowned melanoma researchers have validated the existance of pseudoprogression (the enlargement of an existing tumor, and sometimes the 'development' of smaller ones, due to the influx of t-cells and subsequent inflammation…on scans). Folks used to get kicked off trials and treatment because it was viewed as tumor growth instead of what it really is. I am very glad that your friend's doc is well versed in this. It is important! Here is just one of the latest articles on it that I have posted: http://chaoticallypreciselifeloveandmelanoma.blogspot.com/2016/03/melanoma-big-dogs-review-results-of-pts.html

There is more info on my blog if you are interested. Just type 'pseudoprogression' in the search bubble. I wish you and your friend well. Celeste

Thanks Celeste, I was going to give her advice to go and look at your blog!!!! I found another article on the topic of pseudo progression from ASCO of 2015. http://jco.ascopubs.org/content/early/2015/08/06/JCO.2015.61.6870.full   I also had a question about the liver tumor, how big is it and has the Oncologist ruled out surgery and if so has he/she talked about Tumor Ablation of emblolization as possible options? Best wishes!!! Ed
