    Hi,
Does anyone have a good recommendation for a melanoma treatment specialist? I was thinking of going to Duke or Chapel Hill. It looks like my disease has progressed.
    Thank you.

Dr. April Salama at Duke is very knowledgeable.  Never consulted with UNC's melanoma specialist on staff but II did consult with the melanoma surgical oncologist at UNC and she is great.  Can't remember her name but if you need her services I'll find it for you.

I have been researching her and she looks promising. Yes, if you run accross the other name that would be great.
        Thank you.

Karen Stitzenberg.  I never had her cut on me but I really liked her.  I have a cousin who is an MD at UNC.  He reached out to a colleague in the surgical department.  The colleague spoke very highly of her surgical skills.

      Dr. Richard White Jr.

      Carolina Medical Center

      Charlotte NC

He has kept me alive since 1996.

As a side note, one of the things that drives this guy is that his Dr. Richard White Sr. died due to complications of melanoma.

Pierre Triozzi at Wake Forest Baptist – knowledgeable, thorough and great bedside manner. WFB Cancer Center is apparently the only one in the state that is considered fully a Comprehensive Cancer Center, which,  given we also have Duke and UNC, I was surprised to hear from my Melanoma surgeon.

      Best of luck!
