      I'm not sure if Moh's is supposed to be used for melanoma

      Mohs isn't often used for melanoma, however it is used for Lentigo Maligna.  My doc (Mohs surgeon) often uses Aldara on the lesion first to make it smaller, then he uses Mohs.   Mohs is a tissue saving technique and is designed to get good margins removing the least amount of tissue possible.  Lentigo Maligna is notoroious for recurring locally – it's tough to get good margins, so analyzing every bit of tissue via Mohs makes sense.  I haven't had a LM removed with Mohs personally so can't comment on the procedure itself, just that it is a valid choice for your lesion.
