Hello there,
Hello there,
I am Marleen from Belgium, and I was diagnosed melanoma in august 2010. I inderstand, after reading a lot of messages this afternoon, that I can call myself very lucky since I am only stage Ib (at this moment). Still I am a little anxious, because I see my dermatologist within 1 hour since she has removed a new suspected spot. I guess it is always in the back of your mind things can go bad very fast. I want to be prepared incase things go wrong. I am a pharmacist and I try to follow the possible medical interventions also from a interest in medication. Yet I hade experienced that there are a lot of specialists in this group! I really admire all the fighting, believe and hope I read here. You are all in my hart and prair. Best regards to you all!

Hi Marleen, I saw your post, and had to reply……
My name is Shelley, and I live in Idaho. I was diagnosed with Stage 1b melanoma almost one year ago. I have since had 3 suspiscious moles removed, and am currently waiting on results from the last one. The other two were dyplastic moles, nothing to alarming. I'm hoping for the same for the last one. I understand feeling anxious, I still have difficult days where I worry, but I am so thankful the original melanoma was removed fairly early and hopefully I will remain Stage 1b for a long time to come. I'm continually inspired by all of the amazing fighters on this site, and my heart goes out to them and their families for all they go through on a daily basis and how they face it with such strength and faith. They are in my thoughts and prayers!!
I'll be thinking happy thoughts for the positive outcome of your recent spot removal, and best wishes for the days and years to come!
God Bless to all the melanoma warriors out there, and to their incredible families and friends!

Hi Shelley, thank you for your reply!
It almosts make you feel guilty to become a member of this community, where you find so many stage 3 and 4 diagnosed. But off course where are anxious too. You don't find many people in this stage in any forum, so it is hard to know what to expect. Does it remain stabile for many years or does it eventually get worse?
Luckely I received a good result yesterday: the mole was dysplastic again, but not melanoma. We have to stay alert, and we should be very grateful we still can be in this stage. I hope you get the same result, and I wish you can stay in this stage for the rest of your life!
All the best to everyone here in this forum and to all the caretakers too.
