It was a year this month that I was diagnosed…Clark Level 4, Breslow 1.2MM. I remember being scared, upset, confused and sick. There hasn't been a day since that I haven't thought about it or everyone on this board. I had a Pet Scan in October that came back clear, keeping my quarterly Dermatologist visits, so far so good…and saw my Surgeon yesterday and I am healing well. Just wanted to check in with my MPIP friends and let you know that whether you are recently diagnosed or been fighting it for years.

Keep your head up, it does get better and you are always in 'someones' thoughts. Much love my MPIP friends….Kelli

Hello….Not sure if PET scans are common, however, I am a big believer in you have to take your health into your own hands. I am not waiting around for some doctor to decide if I need an additional test or not. I don't ever want to be in a situation where something happens and I feel like there was more I could have done. As long as I am doing everything that I believe to be right, whatever happens – happens. I guess it gives me an additional comfort level in being proactive.

makes sense.
i try to weigh the risk/benefit of scans at an earlier stage. . . .the risk of the radiation, false positive leading to other unnecessary tests, etc. . vs the benefit of it showing something before I'd have symptoms anyway
