Nothing, no how on this board? Sad.

I've been busy around here… with vacation for most of  August, the earthquake, the hurricane, school starting, my baby's first birthday and the arrival of our Chinese exchange student. Crazy days and nights. Hope everyone on the east coast did not suffer much from Irene. We had a lot of wind, rain and a bit of a flooded basement, but other than that -and the really frightened parents of our new family member- it was ok. (Cassie is our student's American name and she said that the "typhoon" wasn't that bad- but her mother was crying and very sorry she has sent her baby to such a dangerous place- funny how the east coast always seems so safe to me). Others we know didn't fare too well with the flooding. Here's a picture in front of my sister's house in New Jersey—this is her neighbors being rescued by the Fire/Police boats–five feet of water rushed onto her street during the storm. Next picture is my baby's first birthday…Not sure how to post pictures these days…so I just copied anything I thought might work- excuse me if more than one picture pops up…

       Hope everyone is o.k. …

Well, Rox I am still posting on the board.  Boring Bonnie with Woes.  I loved the pictures and am amazed at the water levels in New Jersey.  I remember we had a Faith T. who lived there,  wonder how she fared.

What kind of cake did you bake Bella?  yum  steakcake? kibblekake? sugarlesscake? def not chocolate cake.

Your summer sounds busy, as will the school year be.  Glad you have a exchange student, I am sure she will be a delight and your whole family will be learning manderine, or cantonese like pro's as she will with English.

          Glad to see you post.

          Love Bonnie

Rox! Glad you did not suffer too much damage. Bella looks too tiny for such a big cake..

I hope Cassie's parents are recovering! Send them a bunch of pictures of her happy, smiling face standing in the front yard so they can see how safe she is.

Well Rox, glad that I'm not that EAST COAST".  I was told that our house only received about 2 inches of rain in the 24 hour period around Irene.  Will be interested in seeing my house when I get back.  It is 35 miles from the epi-center of the quake.

Sounds like you are enjoyiing life and keeping busy.  That's good.

Yes, it's been slow on this board.  I forwarded the recipes to my daughtr, but while waiting for #8 she's not into a lot of cooking, just now.  She'll cook more in a few weeks.

well, power out since Sunday night-currently at the library w/wifi.  Grub is spoiled.  Stored vaccines at my pal's house (w/energy) serious shrinkage due to multiple cold showers, other than that, it beats being in the hospital.

Are you sure the shrinkage  is not due to age, not just cold showere?
