    Hi all been today had gamma  knife, after more detailed scan still just the one spot to take care of. It had grown from 4mm to 5 mm but the nurse said scan I had before is different regarding slices they take of your brain, so most of time always different. Not sure if growing 1 mm is quick from Feb scan to now.

    everything went ok just very sore where the frame was fitted. Went in at 7am home for 3pm did not want to stay over night.

    Will see my consultant in May they said 3 months before scanning again to see how it's gone. No mention of any other treatment at this stage. They said they gave me max dose too tumour .so hope it kills it.

        Sorry Scooby123, I was correcting what I had written above, I meant to say that I hope your scan comes back clear and I had written hope your scans come by clear. I think my cyberknife treatment has had similiar effect on my spelling as it has on your( Hammer knife). Best wishes!!!! Ed

      Congratulations on getting this gamma knife business behind you!  I hope your next scans are completely clear.  Meanwhile, I hope the steroids don't keep you awake at night.

        Thank you Maggie, have not had much sleep with steroids plus all the worrying. Only 2 more steroids today so might sleep tonight.

      So glad all went well.  When they were putting the head frame on me I felt like an alien.  I struggled with speaking for a few days, I stuttered really badly, but then all came back in about a week.   Also, my scalp went numb for about a month and some parts still are numb, 6 months out.  They told me it was a rare side effect, hopefully you don't have it too!  It feels so weird to brush my hair.  

      I am thrilled they didn't find another tumor.  In my follow up MRI my two tumors had shrunk almost completely.  It works!

        Hi bubbles,

        i am doing ok bit sore and resting. Did speak to another consultant regarding immunatherapy after SRS . He said due to this is my only progression and it's been treated then save keydruda for when I need it. 

        Plus I asked about a maintenance dose of ippi and pay private he said just watch wait has if I have a maintenance dose then I will not get the combo has I would have had too much ippi if that makes sense . So it looks like a lot of praying that all turns out well on when I have scans which will not be till 3 months .
