I have my first Keytruda infusion tomorrow afternoon. I’m a little nervous, but optimistic. I’m hoping I’m one of the lucky ones with no major side effects, but I’ll be working from home Friday just in case. I’ll also be getting TVEC injections, not sure exactly when yet. Still waiting for insurance approval on that.

Time to kick the beast to the curb!

SJ, I’m on your same path (Key, TVEC). For me the TVEC won’t happen until 2-3months after the first Keytruda infusion. From what my Oncologist said, the FDA hasn’t approved Key+TVEC in combination yet. So there needs to be a gap between the start of the two, and it is better to start with Keytruda because it may begin to resolve the tumor(s) before the TVEC is even started.

I had my second Keytruda infusion this past Monday. So far the side effects have been minimal. I wake up with slightly stiff muscles but that goes away within 30min. Then I get tired in the afternoon around 4pm – that may be normal and not from the Keytruda 🙂

Wishing you good luck and an uneventful series of infusions.

            Hi Staci!

I hope everything goes very smoothly for you today. I can tell you my first Keytruda infusion a few weeks was very easy and there was very little in the way of side effects (a little bit of flu like symptoms for the first few days, but overall very very minor). I suspect you'll be fine to work from home tomorrow, I went back to work the day after coming home from Houston also. When you get a chance give us an update since there are a few of us just starting out on Keytruda. Let the healing begin!!

            Tex
