I’m in treatment for head and neck melanoma and have had good results from gamma knife (brain) and intralesional therapy (scalp and neck and Pembro (systemic). However, I just found a dark bump inside my mouth–Friday night of a holiday weekend, of course. Anyone have experience with growths in the mouth? Admittedly, frightened.

Mouth sores are a possible side effect of immunotherapy. I was told to rinse my mouth with salt water, if I got mouth sores. I did not have mouth sores, but I did rinse with salt water as a precaution.

Could it be just a blood blister? It i common to get those on the cheek mucosa.

Thank you both for your replies. When I went to bed last night it was black and raised; when I awoke this morning it was light brown/pink and barely detectible. Seems to be subsiding. Thanks for helping me stay calm.
