My wife is scheduled to start her Cyberknife brain radiation treatments today – 5 total treatments over the next 8 days (due to Memorial Day weekend) each one only lasting for about 15 minutes. Hiw much fatigue should we expect – would love to hear from those who have done a similar regimen?

I had two mets treated all in one go on one day. I would guess the total radiation treatment time was an hour and a half to two hours and it was gamma knife. The staff was outstanding and made sure I was always comfortable and not in pain. I was never left alone during the entire day.
The fatigue was tougher than I expected and more than others seemed to experience from gamma knife. I wonder if it was because I had had a craniotomy a month earlier. I was pretty good most mornings but by mid-afternoon I napped and after eating dinner, I would go up to bed for the night.
Also, the side effects from the larger brain tumor that bled became worse for a while after gamma knife. I would say that in all, the effects lasted about two weeks and I slowly became better again, just like after the craniotomy.
It is now almost a year after both the craniotomy and gamma knife and there are still times when I get over tired and also when the effects of the brain bleed come back up. I find that weather changes affect me significantly, especially low pressure cells coming through. I don't know if that sort of thing will affect your wife and share it here so that you will both be aware that those things can resurface for a number of reasons that don't man a new lesion has formed.
The main key for me is to be aware of the things that over tire me and to take care of myself. That has meant excluding some people from my life who just can't seem to get it. Also, I don't take phone calls in late afternoon or evening because it is too draining.
You will both be in my prayers and please let us know how she is doing!
